THIS IS NEWS!
Just a reminder that the 26th Eubanks
Reunion is this weekend, October 1,
2006.
Well, as they say any excuse is better
than none. I've been meaning to up date
the website and send out a newsletter but
things just kept popping up that had to be
done and all of a sudden, I'm out of time.
For those of you that sent me news to keep
everyone caught up - THANK YOU!
I'm sorry I haven't took the time to get
this out sooner. There have been many
things happen in the last couple of years
that you may not know about. Some I don't
know about, so if I missed getting the
information in here, come to the Reunion
this weekend and let everyone know what's
going on.
At any rate, here is the news that
I DO HAVE.
Edd and
Arlene Eubanks of Dexter, MO. There is
BIG news out of Missouri. Edd
Eubanks has
been on the waiting list for a new kidney
for a couple of years now and almost all
hope was gone of this ever happening.
Well, a couple of weeks ago Edd underwent
successful kidney transplant surgery. Eddy
says Uncle Edd is doing great. It's going
to be a long recovery time but this news
is GREAT!
Arlene had bypass surgery in early 2005
and has been doing pretty good.
This is old news now but on Oct. 22, 2004,
Eddy and Paula became 1st time
grandparents. The word we hear is that
"Will" came into the world driving a
truck, that grandpa Eddy revoked his
license, and already has him enrolled in
college.
Tommy Eubanks passed away in early
January, 2005. In late Oct of 2004 my wife
Cathy and I had to make a trip to western
Texas. On our way through Oklahoma City we
stopped and had dinner with Tommy, his
daughter Sammye, her husband Gary
Johnston, and Eldon (Diana's husband)
White. Tommy told some very funny stories
which I have tried to retell on the
Stories
We Tell
page. They can't be as funny in print as
they were in the way Tommy told them, but
to anyone who knew Tommy, maybe you will
see the humor and can imagine as I still
can, Tommy telling them. I am usually in
such a hurry I don't stop and visit with
folks like I should. I am so glad I
stopped this time.
Tommy's daughter Sammye Lou Johnston
continues her battle with cancer. She says
she ask God each night for just one more
day. For the last few years he has heard
hers and others prayers. Keep her in your
prayers.
"This summer, Vanessa and I traveled to
our ancestral homeland(s), Ireland and
Scotland and saw a great deal of history.
We had tried to get our husbands to go
with us but to no avail. Larry told us the
IRA was going to get us and Brad told me
he was glad I was going with Vanessa
instead of him."
The above is from a description of a trip
Donna Eubanks and her daughter took last
summer. I'm sorry I didn't get this
story in a newsletter before. The complete
story is at Ireland
and Scotland Trip.
It's very interesting!

NEWS FROM Ron
Huddleston: Hello Dick: I am
fulfilling a request given to me by your
cousin Elaine Mackie Huddleston. Believe
it or not we have moved out of Arkansas to
Kentucky. I got an opportunity for a job
promotion in a Perdue Poultry plant in a
town called Beaver Dam. It is about 520
miles from our home in Lamar.
We moved to small town called Hartford.
Our new mailing address is: 1220 Old Main
Street, Hartford, KY 42347. Our new e-mail
address is ronhuddleston@bellsouth.net.
Our phone number is: 270-298-9875.
Dont have any more news except to
say that we really do like it here and
feel completely at home here. Write us
back and confirm that you got this just in
case I messed up sending this message.
Talk to you later
Ron & Elaine
News
from L.N. and Anna Lee Hudson:
Early in February L.N. had heart value
surgery. He came through the surgery fine
but then soon suffered a series of
strokes. He was in the hospital in Little
Rock for several months. After returning
home to Drasco, he was hospitalized
recently in Batesville with a uniry tract
infection. It's been a hard 8 months on
both Anna and L.N. Keep them in your
prayers.
News
from Dick Eubanks: We had several
things happen this year but one of the
biggest to me was that in late May I got
to see my son Rob walk across the stage to
get his degree at the U of Ark. Then 2
weeks later we got to see the wonderful
Erna Blom walk down the aisle to become
Mrs. Robert C. Eubanks. They are making
their home in Fayetteville.
We just learn't this week that Cathy is
going to be a grandmother again. (I'm much
to young to be a grandpa) Michele and
Randy are expecting their second. This
will make our 9th grand child. Whee!
In early July I had to deliver a travel
trailer to Poulsbo, Wa. Cathy was on
vacation and went with me. Cathy has a
cousin she hadn't seen since she was about
12 years old that lived just out of
Poulsbo. We ended up spending half the
night while they tried to catch up on the
last 40 years. After leaving there we went
through Redmond, Or, where I have an uncle
I hadn't seen in the last 34 years. His
mother, my step-grandmother, was living
with him so I got to see her also. It was
great!
Then we went down through southern Utah on
the scarriest road (Hwy 12) I've every
drove and toured Bryce Canyon and Zion
National Park. I've never been a great fan
of Utah, but this was some of the most
gorgeous scenry we've ever seen. Hated to
come back home - work I should have
said.
NEWS FROM:
Jerry Neal Eubanks

Also have e-mail @
teameubanks@sbcglobal.net. Dicky got home
today from the reunion and sit down and
said whew. But as I sat here I reflected
upon the past 12 hours and come to realize
that I only got to spend 1 1/2 hours with
my family because as you have said in
previous articles one tends to be too busy
now days for ones family. Well I came to
realize that I fall into that group! Want
to take the time and write this and say I
really really for the first time realize
how much I miss my family and just how
much fun it was to see all of you and
spend that 1 1/2 hours with all of you. I
would do it again in a heart beat, but I
think that next year I'll spend the night
there and ride over when everyone else
does. We here in oklahoma love all of you
and we miss you all even MARK AND RANDY.
(Note: Guess he remembers all the
times he lost at horseshoes)
News
from Reta G Jackson: (daughter of
Burnell Kinslow and Stella Powell)
Saturday, July 23, 2005 10:17 AM
Dad (Arron "Lucky" Powell) ended his fight
with Cancer on Thursday about noon. He
went quietly at home with Nadine and the
neighbors and hospice with him. All of us
girls were with him on Fathers day and we
all got to say our goodbye's then. I am
glad that it is over for his sake. But it
still hurts. The funeral and burial will
be in Satanta on Tuesday. (His wishes)
Thanks for all your prayers and concerns.
It will be fine! He is in a better place
now with mother.
NOTE: Was
talking to Eddy Eubanks in Dexter, Mo the
other night and he told me how much they
always enjoyed Stella and Lucky stopping
by and spending the night when they came
through. Aunt Stella always had everyone
laughing.What a great
lady.
Jackie
L. Mackie died 6/26/06 at the age of
65. Jackie was a big fan of NASCAR racing.
I remember back in the '60's when
stock car racing came to Centerville.
Cousin Bobby Joe Moore in his number "55"
was tearing up the track. Jackie decided
to give him some competition and he set
out to build a car that would do just
that. He didn't drive, instead choosing to
get his good friend Ellis Lunningham to do
the driving. Every week it was Chevy vs.
Ford with Bobby's red Ford winning one
week and Jackie's Chevy the next. It was
worth the price of admission just to see
them race.
I still look for Jackie's red chevy pickup
when I go to the post office everyday.
For
anyone who has been at the Eubanks
Reunion for many years, you already
know that the Eubanks' brothers
(Mark and Randy) had been winning the
horseshoes contest every year until 2003.
In fact, they had won so many times that
"someone" came up with the idea
that we should have a traveling
trophy in 2004. (Ok, it was Randy
& Mark) This just happened to be
a year after they didn't win. The
"Clan" from Oklahoma City, Jerry
Neal Eubanks and Eldon White
won in 2003. So, Randy and Mark made a
great Horse Shoe Trophy. And then Mark
made the challenge, "this year the
trophy comes back to Arkansas." And guess
what. Mark was half right. The
trophy got to stay in Arkansas 6 months
and Oklahoma 6 months as Eldon
White (Midwest City) and Dick
Eubanks (Russellville) won. What Mark
and Randy have created is great interest
in a fun time for all as everyone now
wants a shot at the TROPHY. Last
year, 2005, it looked like Dick and Eldon
had a shot at retaining their title. Or
was it Randy and Mark? Doesn't matter
as a ringer was brought in. Jerry Neal
Eubanks, "arriving late", said he had
to have a shot at winning. But alas,
everyone was already signed up. There was
no one to be his partner! But then at the
last second Angie Shaddon's boyfriend,
Chris Sherrod (the ringer) showed up to
become Jerry's partner. And now guess who
won? That's right, Jerry Neal
Eubanks of Midwest City, OK. and
Chris Sherrod of Russellville
walked away with the 2005 TROPHY. It was
great fun! Check out the photo's at
Horseshoes.
Now
who will be the 2006
winner?
News
from Patsy Jones: Pat will be
joining the grandmother crowd in the next
few months. Kylie is expecting her 1st
child.
News
from Eldon & Diana
White: Eldon just became a
grandpa again as his daughter in
Springfield, Mo, had a little boy.
News
from Tommy and Mary
Randolph: Tommy's mother passed
away on Sunday, Sept. 17, after a 10 year
battle with injuries suffered in an auto
accident. Tommy's dad has been
undergoing treatment for a year for
cancer. Please keep them in your
prayers.
News
from Gary and Debbie Tuller: As
everyone that has talked to Debbie in the
last year knows, Zachary Fowler Bryant,
was born March 23, 2005. He is the son of
Jennifer & Ryan Bryant, Deb's
daughter, Jennifer and husband Ryan. But
what you may not know is that Jennifer and
Ryan are expecting a little brother - or
sister, for Zachary.
Debbie is working outage at Arkansas
Nuclear One right now, so her day's and
nights are almost running together. Gary
is planning to introduce everyone at the
reunion to his new "Bean Bag Game."
He bought it especially for the reunion.
It looks easy, but's it's not.
